Bush fires: the menace

Humans continue to put tremendous pressure on the forests and its population. Another dry season in #ivorycoast and continued proof of uncontrolled bush fires for #hunting and #pastoral purposes. At KKO INTERNATIONAL, we have pursued an agressive reforestation program in the region by planting almost 200,000 new trees. We will reach 500,000 trees in time. But more needs to be done in terms of education, alternative employment to wean people away from activities like hunting and traditional cattle growing that puts undue pressure on tree cover. #sustainability #climatechange #conservation
