Tché-Wa Program Update #3

Supporting Long-Term Recovery: A Targeted Intervention

One of our Tche-Wa program beneficiaries faced a life-altering accident nearly eight years ago. As a result, he was no longer able to continue his previous professional activity. Through the Foundation’s support, he successfully transitioned into a new livelihood.

Recently, we identified a previously unaddressed medical consequence of his accident: a discrepancy in leg length, leading to chronic back pain and significant hip strain.

To address this, the Foundation has funded the production of custom-made orthopedic shoes, specifically designed to rebalance his posture by compensating for the difference in leg length.

This intervention is expected to:

  • Reduce chronic pain

  • Improve mobility and posture

  • Enhance overall quality of life

  • Support the sustainability of his professional activity

This case illustrates the importance of continuous follow-up and adapting our support beyond initial reintegration—ensuring that beneficiaries not only recover economically, but also physically.
