Launch of Tche-Wa program
We launched our Tche-Wa financial program with Mr. Cissé Ousmane, disabled as a result of an work related accident, receiving financial assistance on May 29, 2025 to refurbish his coffee kiosk, which was in poor condition, enabling him to take care of himself. His accident had occurred in 2019 during the COVID period. Solicited for landscaping work on a real estate construction site, a tree branch fractured his leg and since then, despite medical follow-up and several surgical operations, the leg could not be saved and he lives with this handicap.
TCHÊ-WA Fund — “Come Back, Friend” is more than just a name. It’s a message.
Tchê — a familiar Ivorian expression from Nouchi, meaning brother, sister, or comrade — a word full of fraternity and warmth.
Wa — drawn from various West African languages — means come or return.
Together, TCHÊ-WA is an open call: “Come back, friend” — come back to strength, to dignity, to opportunity.
About the Program
The TCHÊ-WA Fund is a financial aid initiative launched by the LACASA KKO Foundation to support people living with disabilities in rural Côte d’Ivoire. Often among the most vulnerable and overlooked in their communities, these individuals face deep social and economic barriers. TCHÊ-WA provides:
Targeted financial assistance to support basic needs or launch micro-activities
Equipment or tools to enable mobility or productivity
Community inclusion support, fostering dignity and visibility
Why It Matters
We believe that no one should be left behind. By investing in the strength and resilience of people with disabilities, we’re reinforcing the values at the heart of our mission: solidarity, inclusion, and shared humanity. TCHÊ-WA is a promise — that every member of the community matters, and everyone deserves a chance to stand tall.
