The International Centre for Research in Agroforestry is one of the fifteen international institutions, members of the "Future Harvest" Alliance founded by the Advisory Panel on Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). As a global leader in agroforestry research; the ultimate goal of ICRAF is to improve living conditions of the populations by reducing poverty, increasing income, enhancing food security, nutritional status, health, shelter, energy use and the environmental condition through agroforestry systems. ICRAF's headquarters is in Nairobi. ICRAF operates in 26 countries around the world, spread across Africa, South Asia, East Central Asia, South East Asia, and Latin America.
Both parties have pledged willingness to maintain cooperative relationships to collaborate on research themes for improving productivity in agricultural systems and the well-being of rural communities. The Parties will aim to strengthen their cooperation to contribute to the attainment of strategic objectives in the intensification of cocoa production, fight against poverty, and contribute to the proper management of ecosystems and climate change through research for development.
